Human-first technology, thoughtfully made.
Nice Day Labs is an independent research and development studio. We design and build our own digital systems, tools, and products, initiated and maintained by us.
Our approach
We build products and systems that we believe should exist. Our work is self-directed and research-led, developed according to standards we set and maintain. Some projects are shared publicly. Others remain internal or take shape through partnership.
The people behind the work
Nice Day Labs is a founder-led studio. The work reflects direct involvement, shared judgment, and long-term responsibility from the people who design and build it. Our independence allows us to choose our work deliberately and build without external pressure.

Mychal Martinez
Mychal works across product design, systems thinking, and engineering, with a focus on how complex products are communicated and experienced on the web. His work translates technical direction into clear, human-readable systems across product and marketing surfaces. He brings experience building and scaling complex products while keeping decisions grounded, practical, and aligned with real user needs.

Gerard Martinez Jr.
Gerard focuses on research, systems architecture, and software engineering. His work emphasizes correctness, durability, and disciplined execution, with an eye toward building systems that remain reliable as they scale. He is particularly interested in translating deep problem understanding into thoughtfully designed software that stays adaptable over time without accumulating unnecessary complexity.
Working together, when it makes sense
Nice Day Labs is an independent studio. We occasionally collaborate with others when there is shared intent, mutual respect, and clear alignment on long-term outcomes.
Exploring questions together
Early-stage conversations around ideas we are already investigating. These are exploratory by nature and may not result in a product or partnership.
Building products in partnership
In limited cases, we co-develop products with organizations when ownership, direction, and responsibility are shared from the start.
Sustained work over time
Longer collaborations only occur when there is deep trust, independence on both sides, and no work-for-hire expectations.
A few common questions
These answers clarify how our work is structured, how decisions are made, and what responsibility looks like in practice when building products and partnerships.
Nice Day Labs is an independent research and development studio. We design and build practical, human-first digital systems intended for long-term use. Our work spans research, system design, and software development.
We operate as both. Much of our work begins as internal research and development. Some projects become independent products. Others remain internal systems or take shape through partnership, depending on context and intent.
Products are released when they are useful, stable, and ready for real-world use. Some are shared publicly. Others remain private or are developed in partnership. We prioritize clarity, durability, and readiness over launch speed.
No. Nice Day Labs does not operate as an agency or services firm. We do not take on client work. Any collaboration is based on shared authorship, aligned goals, and long-term responsibility from the start.
Nice Day Labs is based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our work is conducted remotely and, when appropriate, in collaboration with partners elsewhere.
